Sri Lanka – A Paradise Isle

The south coast of Sri Lanka is the most renowned area of the island. Located in the Indian Ocean, not far from the Maldives, the island’s 1340km of beautiful, palm fringed coastline offers countless and diverse beaches, from small half-moon powdery sandy coves to reef fringed bays offering the perfect surfing conditions. Some of the best beaches of the south coast include Mirissa, Talpe, Tangalle, Unawatuna, Wijaya, Pitiwella and Hikkaduwa, and all are easily reached from Wirdana, for a day trip. Pitiwella Beach is only half a kilometre from Wirdana and remains relatively un-touristy, with its local beach shacks and seafood restaurants
